Trying each day to remember to stop and smell the roses... The fun is in the "getting there"...

I, like many others I'm sure, get too caught up, too lost in the hustle and bustle. Do you ever stop to watch a sunset? Stop to feel a nice cool breeze? Stop to feel the grass under your feet? I want to slow it all down and breathe it all in.

Keeping me on track:

WOW!!

I got my graded papers from school yesterday and HOLY COW!  I got a 1000/1000 in my first class.  My professor left some really nice notes on my papers and I got very positive feedback!  Perfect score and an A in the class!  Wahoo!!!

gettting my groove back...

Hi guys!  Whew!!  Busy busy! Time sure flys!  I can't beleive it's the end of June already!  This year is going so fast!  Everyday feels like a whirlwind and I have been grasping at straws for a while to keep my sanity!  I finally feel like I am getting my groove back and like I have a little bit more control over my life.  School is still pretty overwhelming, but I am having fun with it.  Work is calming down and though I stay very busy, I do feel like I am in the zone.  My house is staying fairly together thanks to a lot of help from my awesome hubby!! I do feel like I've been able to have a little bit of a social life, though I haven't been able to spend as much time with anyone as I'd like to...  Everyone keeps telling me that school would require sacrifice...  I just have a very hard time sacrificing quality time with my loved ones...  I am sure it will all work out just fine, though.
I lost another couple of pounds last week.  I am at 215.2 this morning!  Yay! 15.2 pounds to go before ONEDERLAND!!  I am going to have to do something really spectacular for that milestone!
I was going through some cloths from a friend this weekend and guess what?!?  There is a LBD in there!!  (little black dress) It's beautiful and I can't wait to go somewhere spectacular in it!  I look amazing in it!!  I think Matt and Trina and Nick and I are going to go on a formal double date somewhere!  Yay!!  Maybe the Melting Pot??
Things are good.  Really good.  I am feeling good.  Nick is good.  It's like stepping out into the sun after being in a cave for a while...  I love the fresh air!

Busy weekend!

We had a nice weekend!  It was pretty busy, but that's what we do!  :-)
Friday night Nick and I went to Red Lobster then we went to see a movie.  We saw Source Code.  It was great!
Saturday, we took John and Kathy to Olive Garden for Father's Day lunch and had a nice visit with them.  Saturday evening we went to Jeremy and Tricia's for a BBQ and game night.  It was so nice to catch up with them.
Sunday was homework day.  I had a few papers to write, a presentation to prepare and a few chapters to read, so I did homework for a few hours.  Sunday evening we went to Logans for Father's Day dinner with Dad, Claire, Jake, Jenny and the kids.  That was nice!
Back to work today...  Not much else happening today...  Oh!  Nick had his 6 month follow up with Dr Clark today and he's lost 64% of his excess body fat!!  Nice job, babe!!  Lookin SO good!!!

100 pounds!!

At weigh in yesterday, I was at 217.8.  I was 217 on my morning of surgery, so I am .8 pounds from 100 pounds lost since surgery.  My 7 month suregiversary is tomorrow and I am so proud of myself!  Nick looks amazing, too!  He is in a men's XL.  Not a 2XL or a 5 XL, just an XL.  He's so awesome!  I will get a photo of us together to post soon.  I still get a lot of comments at work and it's so much fun.  I got a real dress and wore it last night to Chris' graduation.  I haven't worn a real dress in a LONG TIME!
Speaking of that, Chris graduated last night.  It was a cool ceremony and I was so proud of him!
School is going well, but it is still a bit overwhelming.  I am trying to get my footing and actually bought an hour-by-hour day planner.  I feel like I can't get a grip on my time.  I am sure it will get better and I KNOW it will be worth it!!
Not much else going on.  Hope everyone's doing well!

Stampin Fun!

Tonight is Stamp Club and it should be a lot of fun.  This is my busy week, and I am tired!!  I still have a lot of work to do.  I came up with the idea for my school paper, but I still have to do all the research and write it.  I have some other assignments to do, too.  Work has been busy, so I haven't really had any down time there, either.  This week is going super fast!
Last night we went swimming with Matt and Trina after work.  We split a pool pass with them this year, so I am hoping to be able to take advantage of the pool and get some good sun and excersise.

Hump Day!

Happy Wednesday!  I had class last night and boy oh boy!!  It definitely reaffirmed my decision to put my focus on my education.  I really like this class and I like my group a lot.  The professor is great.  But WOW!  Last night was intense!  I have a big project due next week and I am trying not to be too intimidated by it.  I have to go to a library and everything!  It will definitely be a learning experience!

Good grief!

Holy cow!  I didn't realize how long it'd been since I'd posted.  So...  lots of changes...  First and biggest, work.  After LOTS of soul-searching, I decided I should pass on the opportunity at work after all.  I had some tough conversations with my managers and asked to be returned to my old job in the interest of balance.  I would like to go down that career path in the future, but the timing was just not great.  I need to be able to focus on my energy on school, my home and myself right now.  I have been through a lot of changes personally in the last year and taking on school is another big change.  I just don't think such a big change at work is wise.  They did allow me to go back to my old job after making a few small concessions, so I am thrilled.  I feel so much relieff already.
My first day of school was last Tuesday and it went well.  I really like my professor and the class I am in now is a lot of fun.  It's a philosophy class and an introduction to adult learning.  I will go thru my whole associates program with the same core group.  There are 10 of us and it's a cool, diverse and interesting group.  I am looking forward to getting to know them and working with them through this journey.  I had about 5 hours of homework this week, but it was kind of interesting.  This class teaches us how to seek balance (good timing!) in our hectic lives with school, work, and family.  Wesleyan's approach to learning is really cool.  I have class again tonight and I am looking forward to it.
Personally, I had a great couple of weight loss weeks.  I am at 219 at last weigh in.  I am officially in the 210's!!  :-)  I am at my high school weight now and I feel great.  I am in 18 pants and 18/20 tops.  I am losing about a size a month right now and shopping has been fun!  Expensive, but fun!
We had a wonderful time at King's Island and I can't wait to go back!  We were able to ride everything and it was a perfect day to go.  There was no one there!
I need to run, but I will catch up more soon!
