Trying each day to remember to stop and smell the roses... The fun is in the "getting there"...

I, like many others I'm sure, get too caught up, too lost in the hustle and bustle. Do you ever stop to watch a sunset? Stop to feel a nice cool breeze? Stop to feel the grass under your feet? I want to slow it all down and breathe it all in.

Great workout!

The gym was wonderful this morning!  We did a quick mile on the treadmill and then did some weight machines.  We worked our upper body this morning focusing on our arms and chests.  It felt really great!  I did 6 reps of 10 overall using 3 different machines.  I was only lifting 10-20 pounds, but I could feel it.  I am excited to try legs tomorrow.  The plan is to do about 20-30 minutes of cario a day and then another 20-30 minutes of resistance training a day.  YAY excersise!  lol!!

Fun weekend!

We had a nice weekend and got to spend some time with John and Kathy.  Friday night we had dinner and did pictures and measurements.  I was shocked at the inches I lost last month.  Only 11 pounds, but 11 inches, too!  Very fun!  Saturday we went to breakfast, the to Sam's Club.  Kathy bought a treadmill and John and Nick assembled it.  We went to the mall and Nick got some new clothes and then we went bowling.  I broke 50 1 game!  LOL!  I am terrible at bowling, but it was fun to people watch.  Yesterday I did some laundry and went to dinner at Mom's.  I am so glad they made it home from the cruise.  That may be the only good thing that happened their whole trip.  They didn't have the best time.   Maybe the next cruise will be better.

Getting motivated...

So I am READY to get back to the gym!  I was watching the Biggest Loser last night and that show is so INSPIRING!  I am signed up to walk the Susan G Komen 5K on April 16th and I need to GET IN SHAPE!  I haven't been able to work out all week becuase of my stupid cold, but I am definately ready to get back to it!  I am only losing a few pounds a week at this point.  That's still great, but it could really be coming off faster.  I need to start toning, too.  I am hoping to do cardio for about 30 minutes and weight training for 30 minutes each day.  I will rotate my arms and legs with weights every other day.  I am READY!  I have never really been "buff" but I sure would like to be!!  I need to kick it into high gear for sure!

How are words ever enough?

Do you ever feel like you don't have the right words to say?  How do you ever express the love you have in your heart for the people in the world that keep your world turning?  How do you ever form a prayer that expresses the gratitude you feel for all the ways you are blessed?  I can't ever seem to find the right words.  For those times that "I love you" and "Thank you" fall short of what you want to say.  For the moments that you need someone to be able to feel all that you feel for them.  Actions speak louder than words, right?  What happens when you don't feel like you could ever do enough to show a person what they bring to your life?  Just some thoughts for the day...
For all of those in my life that make every aspect of my life richer and brighter, thank you and I love you and so much more...

How exciting!!

I am so proud of my amazing husband.  Nick found out yesterday that he got a promotion!  Starting March 20th, he will be a manager in our office.  He has worked so hard and has proven himself time and time again and I am so excited that his diligence has paid off.  He will be working Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, so it's a weird shift, but he will have off Wednesday, Thursday and Saturdays.  He'll work 8:30 - 7:15, but I think having 3 days off a week will make it easier to deal with.  He got a nice pay increase, which is very helpful when we are looking at the medical bills still due.
Nick is really just a spectacular person to work with.  Everyone adores him and he is going to be a great leader.  His team will be very lucky to have him.  He's really excited about the opportunity.  It is so nice to see him rewarded for all of his efforts.
Congratulations, Babe.  I love you!
